Indigo Series

In the Indigo Series, I work with water's fluidity and structure, translucency, and unpredictability. There is a dance of intention and chance between elemental happenings and gestures from my hand. Liquid indigo surrenders to evaporation, air, breath, and gravity, shifting from its initial place. The compositions of Froth and Lather are loosely based on two of DaVinci's water studies of 1510. These are drawings of aquatic joy and grief, considering water as the source of life and nourishment, as well as cataclysmic devastation.
